The Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (GW-ICC), co-founded in 1989 by renowned Chinese cardiologist Professor Hu Dayi and Italian cardiovascular expert Professor German Di Sciascio, has, over thirty-five years, developed into the largest and highest-level cardiovascular academic exchange platform in China. This conference will bring together global experts and scholars in the field of cardiology to explore diagnostic and treatment technologies, research progress, and future development directions for cardiovascular diseases. Embracing the spirit of the Great Wall, the conference aims to foster enthusiasm for cardiovascular health.

Welcome Address

Dear Colleagues and Friends, Ladies and Gentlemen,

The 35^th Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (GW-ICC 2024) will be held in conjunction with the Asian Heart Society Congress from 7 to 10 November 2024 in Beijing, China. As the president of the congress this year and on behalf of the organizing committee of this annual meeting, I warmly welcome all of you to participate in this scientific meeting.

The Great Wall is a symbol of the Chinese spirit. It has been there for thousands of years for the protection of the country against foreign aggression and invasion. The GW-ICC has been with us for more than three decades and has become the China largest attending scientific platform among professionals in the cardiovascular field. It has become a spiritual home for the participants and a steel bulwark for the prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases. Worldwide, the GW-ICC has been working closely with the large cardiology congresses in north America and Europe, and building an Asian dedicated platform in the framework of the Asian Heart Society.

The GW-ICC is always a platform for innovations and inventions, for new guidelines, new concepts, and innovative devices and pharmaceuticals, and most importantly, for the nurture and growth of talented scientists, physicians, other professionals and students.

As always, the GW-ICC is an open platform and welcomes everybody from everywhere in the world to communicate their research, to exhibit their innovative technologies and products, to learn new knowledge and techniques, and to meet old friends and have new friends.With the development of digital technology and artificial intelligence, there is an emerging revolutionary change in cardiology. Complex diseases can be precisely diagnosed and treated. Common chronic diseases can be properly managed for life. Acute and severe diseases can be prevented. As a professional in the field of cardiology, we would have to improve ourselves and even change the mentality of our work.
